On April 28, 2022, the city of Oakley entered into a cooperative agreement with Contra Costa County. This agreement stipulates that the City and County will share the cost of demolishing the sheriff's substation on Ruby Street to make way for a stand-alone library and community center. The terms of the agreement are as follows: the city and county will share the demolition costs and the Oakley community has 36 months to come up with a funding plan for the project. 

We are asking members of the community who are interested in seeing this project to fruition to volunteer to become grant writers and fundraising volunteers for the Oakley Community Library Project.
