New Library Committee!

The Friends of the Oakley Library has established a committee to get Oakley a stand-alone Library. This committee will look in to the many different ways that a Library can be built, what support we can give and how we can get the Oakley community behind this project. We will be meeting monthly on the first Tuesday of each month at the current Oakley Library, 1050 Neroly Road, at 6 p.m., and everyone is welcome to attend.

Since 1913 the Oakley Library has served the community from a variety of locations throughout the city. In 1999 the Library was moved part of Freedom High School's Library where it still resides today. As stated in the Oakley Press,  city officials are looking in to moving the Oakley Library to the old Sheriff's Station on O'Hara Ave. We are wanting community input in to the matter and hope to see everyone at our meeting!
